The Rythm of a Joke

Whether you are a Preacher/Public Speaker/or Stand-Up Comedian, every great Orator is like a Jazz Musician playing a song. In the case of the Comedian every Joke is a Note and every laugh a crescendo. If you listen closely to the Rythm/Cadence/and Delivery of any speaker; you feel a stir within to the song their singing with their speech. For the Comedian we Laugh. For the Poet we Snap. And for the Preacher we yell AMEN!

'Don't nothing scare a Wino.
They can handle Dracula
Say Fool ! What you doin
Peekin' in those PeoPle's window?!"
- Richard Pryor

If one does not have the complete works of Richard Pryor in the Comedy library for a study tool( yet). As you can imagine Richard's Rythm/Cadence/and Delivery is what makes us laugh. But if you focus your attention to the way words were put together. And say those 5 words OUT LOUD to yourslef. "Peeking in those PeoPle's window" that shit is funny. ..lol..It's all because of the words being put together Phonetically in a Masterful way. Meaning based upon the way it sounded. It's like Peter PiPer Picked a Peck of Pickled PePPers.

Study & Meditate upon this.

"MANY ARE CALLED but THE FUNNY ARE FEW"

Many people there be on stage telling jokes.
But few are true Comedians.

Comedy is a Calling.
It is a deep yearning to turn tears into a tickle,
and pain into laughter.

How can you tell if you have the calling of a true Comedian?

A true comedian creates and doesn't imitate.
A true Comedian is too proud to steal a joke. He/she wants to know that the laughter came from something they wrote.Because a true Comedian wants THEIR voice to be heard.

Like George Carlin & Richard Pryor, their voices are/were original in that it was genuinely honest and revealingly authentic....smoke a blunt and think about that..lol..

But the jackals and hyenas don't care.
They don't care that when they steal someone else's material the essence of that person is still what got the laugh and not them.

True Comedians, on the other hand, have an unspoken/unwritten understanding of the rules of the game of creation.
Which is #1 If you did not come up with the joke it is not your idea no matter how many funny tags you come up with, after the fact.

INSIGHT: At that moment is a/the spiritual test.
Are you worthy of The gift of ORIGINAL thought?.
Which is a joke that others will say " I WISH I HAD THOUGHT OF THAT"

It is at that moment the great Creator is testing us to see if we're ready for the gift.
That's the reason why you hadn't thought of anything close to what you just heard, when you heard it. And now your mind is flooded with all kinds of funny hooks and ways in which you could do it,IF you had thought of the joke 1st.

PROPER RESPONSE: Give. Give all of those brilliant tags and ideas to the person GOD (I like to acknowledge him as) has given the joke too. Then you will see how that actually accelerates your creativity.

RECIPE of a JOKE - How To Write a Joke that gets Laughs

WELCOME! Greetings and Salutations, so let's get right to it.
Whether you're an aspiring Comedian/Public Speaker/or CEO of a Fortune 500 Company
For whatever reason , you want to know how to write/constrtuct a funny joke. I applaud you.
Not many in the Profession of Joke telling/writing make such a Noble endeavor.
They wait until another has Created; then they duplicate/imitate/and steal. These are the jackals/ravens/ and hyenas of the Comedy Professions.

A joke is very similar to a cake. Everybody knows it when they see or hear it.
But NOT EVERYBODY KNOWS how to make one. Which if you asked ME how to bake a cake from scratch,
you'd see me SCRATCH my head. And pull out a box of Betty Crocker, Sara Lee, or some shit...lol.
But a JOKE on the otherhand, I can show ANYONE how to make from scratch all day long.

Which at this point I MUST WARN YOU that "baking" jokes from scratch is HIGHLY ADDICTIVE. And could DESTROY YOUR LIFE, because the LAUGHTER ....OoOo THE LAUGHTER that you HEAR from a SYMPHONY of WORDS that YOU CREATED.MmmMm. Is better than sex ! Whew!

And if you're tempted into becoming a STAND-UP COMEDIAN, GOD HELP YOU if you do. Because something that you only planned on doing every so often. You know "casually" has now BECOME a habit, and a NEED.

TURN BACK NOW!!!
that sh** is WORSE THAN CRACK!!!

If you choose to proceed beyond this point. You do so at your own peril.

RECIPE of a JOKE:

1 part Premise
1 part Set-Up
1 part Punchline
3 parts Love
10 parts Performance

*REMINDER*

1) Premise
2) Set-Up
3) Punchline
4) Performance

WHAT'S A PREMISE?
The Idea. What is funny to you.
What you want to talk about.

WHAT'S A SET-UP?
How you present that idea of what's funny to you.
The words you use to translate your language of funny
to the room full of strangers who you don't know.
Whom you have never met.

WHAT'S A PUNCHLINE?
The whole point of a joke. The Pay off. The funny part.
The part when your audience is SUPPOSED TO LAUGH.

WHAT'S A PERFORMANCE?
Get your ass onstage....IN FRONT OF PEOPLE.

WHY IS LOVE 1 OF THE INGREDIENTS?
Because WITHOUT LOVE, and not "passion" for what you're doing.
I mean genuine LOVE in your heart that fills your words. YOU WILL NEVER GET A LAUGH.

COMEDY CONFUSCIOUS SAY:
Any good joke is full of truth, and truth SAID is a hard pill to swallow. Especially from a mean spirited speaker. That One is met with "offense"/ "anger/ and sometimes a physical fight.

While, the harshest of things can be said by one who is OF LOVE.
That One is met with Laughs/Smiles/and Hugs .
